Emerson Allsworth cause of death – Emerson Lincoln Allsworth, a Florida politician and lawyer who represented Broward County in the Florida House of Representatives from 1959 to 1966, died on May 24, 2023, at the age of 96. The cause of death was not given. Yet, given his age, the experienced politician was most likely killed by age-related ailments.

Allsworth was born in Miami’s Jackson Memorial Hospital in 1926 to the late Emerson Lincoln Allsworth of La Junta, Colorado, and Virginia Fenn of Atlanta, Georgia.

He attended Miami Senior High School, the University of Miami, and the University of Miami School of Law. He served two (2) years in the United States Navy during WWII and was commissioned as a Lieutenant in the Air Force Reserve during the Korean War.

Allsworth was a Fort Lauderdale lawyer for almost seventy (70) years and never retired.

Allsworth was the state’s youngest prosecutor at the time, at 28 years old and only two (2) years out of law school.

He served in the Florida Legislature for eight (8) years, having been elected to the House of Representatives from Broward County from 1958 to 1966.

He was chosen by Governor Haydon Burns to serve on the Florida Constitution Revision Commission in 1967.

Allsworth was also a member of the University of Miami Board of Trustees for fifteen (15) years.

Allsworth died in Pompano Beach, Florida on May 24, 2023, at the age of 96 and is survived by his sons Emerson Scott Allsworth, John Allsworth, Terrance Allsworth, and Mark Allsworth, as well as six (6) grandchildren and two (2) great-grandchildren
